Now, it wil be a side view of the characters. (Oh well) But each attack has a special animation! And SPD determines turn number. However, double knifes are fastest and axes are slowest. Each buff will show as follows

Red ^=ATK up
Blue ^=Def up
green ^= spd up

red v- Atk down
blue v= def down
green V= spd down

And critical chance skills are as follows

Yellow ^=Critical up
yellow V= Critical down

There are several options that the player uses

such as:

ATTACK: Do a physical attack
Skill: use magic or skills
Item: use an item
Assist Attack: Use an unlocked assist attack (must have required party members)
Escape: attempt to escape from battle

and obtaind through new game plus:

Party shuffle: Shuffles party members (takes one full player turn)

Attack: Perform a basic attack with the selected weapon.
Guard: Attempt to block the enemy's attack. This has a set chance of success. Successful blocks greatly reduce incoming damage.
Magic: Select a spell to use against the enemy. This selection is blank if the character knows no spells.
Skill: Select a skill to use with the selected weapon.
Assist Attack: Skill subcategory. Select an unlocked assist attack using one or more of the party members. Certain prerequisites must be fulfilled before this can be used.
Bag: Use a selected item.
Command: Order party members to act according to your selections (Aggressive, Conserve SP, Conserve HP, Support, Hold Back)
Escape: Attempt to escape the battle. Escape is successful after 2 turns of survival. Not all battles can be escaped from.
